HealthSpring is a Nashville TN based company that has been in business for a number of years.
HealthSpring only carries HMO designed Medicare Advantage plans and Part D plans. They have a wide network, great benefits, and low or no premium. If your doctor accepts their plan or you are willing to switch doctors, their plans are a wonderful choice for your Medicare insurance coverage.
HealthSpring HMO Medicare Advantage Plans
Tennessee HMO Medicare Advantage Plans are typically traditional HMO plans where you must see an in network doctor, in exchange for the high level of benefits provided at a low cost. The cost savings are provided by negotiation with doctors to accept lower compensation and provide higher amounts of preventive services in order to keep claims experience low. They use time tested methods and statistical analysis of results to try the method of treatment that has the highest success for the lowest cost first, before moving to other treatments in order to keep everyones cost low.
HealthSpring is a traditional HMO in this model. They keep their costs as low as possible by requiring their doctors to perform preventive medicine and step therapies, try to help them catch medical events early to keep costs lower, and provide a high level of services for a very affordable price.
HealthSpring Medicare Advantage Plans in Nashville
Nashville has a very wide service area, extending 50 miles or more in most directions to surrounding counties. The plan covers a large range of hospitals and doctors. A plan is available that includes dental from a partnership with Delta Dental of Tennessee. This plan is available as far east as Cookeville Tennessee for HMO medicare advantage coverage.
HealthSpring Medicare Advantage Plans in Knoxville
HealthSpring recently expanded into the Knoxville area, with plans available in Knox and a small area of surrounding counties. These plans are a different design than the Nashville plans, and are actually a little less expensive for most services than the Nashville plan design. I would expect that the plans eventually will look closer to the same once the market area has more members, but for the time being this is a very inexpensive plan with fantastic benefits.
