Tennessee Short Term Medical Insurance | Tennessee Temporary Health Insurance
There are several difference options available in health insurance for terms of 12 months or less. These policies have very limited medical underwriting requirements, so most people can get one of these policies without regard for their health conditions. These policies do not cover pre-existing conditions or preventive care, but would protect from large medical events during the term of the coverage.
These policies have multiple uses, such as a student health insurance requirement for college, bridging the gap between 64 until age 65 before medicare eligibility, or during a short gap between jobs in which you would have no coverage.

United Health One short term medical
UnitedHealthcare has 6 or 11 month Tennessee short term medical insurance that is priced to make it a very affordable health
insurance option. It does not cover pre-existing conditions or preventive care, however it has very affordable rates.
They have three designs offered:
- Short Term Medical Copay - has a maximum of 2 copay visits at 35$ to the doctor, and drug coverage.
- Short Term Medical Plus - one copay for the term of the policy, drugs and medical care covered after deductible is met.
- Short Term Medical Value - new copay per incident
I believe the "Short Term Medical Plus" version of this coverage is usually the best option, as it is very cost effective. The "Short Term Medical Value" plan is the cheapest STM available at the higher deductible levels, and it can be used to fill the requirement for insurance for college nursing courses.
Assurant Health
Assurant has a 6 month term length short term medical. It does not cover pre-existing, just like other short term medical policies, and does not cover preventive care. It has attractive pricing in some areas, and can be quoted via the short term medical quote page.
BCBS TN Short Term Medical
BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee (BCBS TN) has a Tennessee short-term medical that is available for up to 90 days, with a max of 4 consecutive terms. It does not cover pre-existing conditions, or preventive care. The policy has to be paid for the entire term, so on a 3 month policy all 3 months must be paid at one time. The advantage to this particular policy is that it does not ask medical questions, the only thing that can disqualify you for coverage with them is if you have been declined for other coverage or are currently expecting children.
