Medicare Part D coverage is the prescription drug benefit available to medicare. Multiple companies provide these plans. When shopping for a part D policy, it is very important to examine the drug formulary for the drugs you currently take. The monthly premium of the plan is not nearly as important as the cost of the prescriptions, as the drug copays can reach into the thousands of dollars per year depending on what drugs you take.
You can also watch the tutorial video on the right to see how to use the Medicare.gov website in order to review different plans yourself. This is the tool that I use to run drug comparisons, because it is generally the most accurate way to find exactly what the costs for an entire year will be.
Tennessee Medicare Part D Plan Designs
Each plan will have a premium due per month, different deductible amounts and different copay amounts. Also, be careful when looking at the quotes to specify your normal pharmacy if you are not willing to change, some plans have discounts at preferred pharmacies that will be included in the quotes generated. The plans tend to be very similar in design, other than the differences in where specific drugs fall into tiers with different companies. The difference in drug tiers can make massive difference in your total annual costs.

Part D plans are available to all consumers who qualify for medicare at any age.
